– Tony Martin’s song “There’s No Tomorrow” (1949), also a version of the ballad “O Sole Mio”, inspired Elvis Presley’s version. Presley heard Martin’s recording in the late 1950s, when he stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army.
– Writers Aaron Schroeder and Wally Gold penned this song in 20-30 minutes after Freddy Bienstock, Elvis Presley’s music publisher, had requested a song from them. It became the biggest song of their career.
